STEAM Coach methodology and Resource kit

Coaching as a tool to tackle women underrepresentation in STEM-TVET

Women remain underrepresented in vocational STEM careers, from engineering to IT. STEAM Coach presents a pioneering methodology that uses coaching as a transformative tool to help women enter, persist and succeed in STEM-TVET pathways based on a 5-step process. At its core is the STEAM Coach introduces a new competence profile combining coaching with gender-awareness strategies to guide women in making confident, informed career choices. Unlike traditional guidance, coaching empowers learners to identify their strengths, set goals, build self-efficacy and overcome gender barriers, while fostering more inclusive institutional cultures.

The STEAM Coach Methodology sets out the theoretical and procedural foundations for gender-sensitive coaching in STEM-TVET, outlining the five-phase model and the competences that define the new STEAM Coach profile. Complementing it, the STEAM Coach Resource translates this methodology into action through ready-to-use tools (session templates, planning guides, reflective questions, and case journeys) equipping coaches and institutions to apply the model effectively and measure progress in real learning contexts.
